RAND BELLAVIA

Rand Bellavia is the Left Ventricle of the singing, songwriting, guitar-playing Heart of Ookla the Mok. He sings and plays guitar and trombone, and he and Adam write the songs.  Adam is the Right Ventricle, which is not a reflection of his political views or anything.  He can be the Aorta if he wants.

Rand is the Acquisitions Librarian at D'Youville College.  He is a Visiting Professor in the Masters of Library Science program at the University of Buffalo's School of Informatics and an Adjunct Professor of Poetry at D'Youville.

Rand has two Masters Degrees, one in Theological Studies and one in Library Science.  Both his Masters Theses were about comic books.

One really interesting thing about Rand is that he knows everything. You know that thing you know a lot about? You know,  your thing, the thing you care the most about? Rand knows more about that than you do. He has a freakish abilty to absorb and retain information. All of it. No really, try him. He has a positively unsettling number of facts at his disposal, such as every hockey, basketball, football, and baseball statistic printed on a Topps sports card from 1972-1984, and the full roster of every band ever to appear in Circus magazine. He's like the Internet only he smells really nice.

Rand loves comic books, Japanese food, Sufi poetry, reader-response criticism, and books about other books.  He hates wristwatches and capital letters.
