OOKLA IS BACK.

Well, it's not like we ever really left, but we haven't updated the site in a while. Changes to the site (both major and minor) are forthcoming, so look for that soon.

Oh yeah, and Ookla is entering the studio this fall. We hope to drop an album sometime in 2009, with random tracks appearing here and on our myspace page between now and then.

LESS THAN ART IS COMING!!!!! That's right. After being out of print for years, Ookla's debut album makes a triumphant return. And it's not just the old album thrown out there for those of you who missed it the first time. Oh no. This is a full-on ten-year anniversary edition. We're talking one vintage and two newly recorded bonus tracks. And hey, anyone can remaster. But we went the extra mile, and remixed the entire project. If you have heard the original mix, you will not believe how much better it sounds. If, however, you have never heard Less Than Art before, we swear it has always sounded this fantastic.

The CD will be available soon. In the meantime, check out sample tracks at our Myspace Page.

Also, Cupid's Chokehold continues to climb the charts -- currently the number four song on the Billboard Hot 100 if you can stand it.

Holy Crappus!!! Ookla spends the entire month of February having every aspect of their amazing lives filmed for a feature-length documentary (or should that be Mokumentary) shot by Tom Hanks!!!!!!

Okay, they're only being filmed for five days.

And it's mostly about the music, you know -- filming rehearsals "let it be" style, peeking in on them in the studio, filming a concert at Mohawk Place, etc.

And the documentay isn't solely about Ookla.

And it's not being shot by Tom Hanks. Or Tom Cruise. Or Tom Arnold for that matter. One of their brothers is on the documentary team, though.

Yes, Ookla has a doggone MySpace page now... Check it out at myspace.com/othem, Also, Ookla posed as children's band OTHEM!, for a special Independence Day concert at Centennial Park. Lucky kids of all ages were able to attain a limited edition CD of kid-friendly Ookla favorites at this show. (made from 100% recycled material!) So where were you? Huh? Now your only opportunity to own this rare piece of Ookla history is to track it down on eBay and buy it for dozens of dollars! OK, fine, quit crying, we'll sell you one, just e-mail the band.
